MedDRA is a highly dynamic dictionary. It is managed by the MSSO in a controlled fashion with two yearly updates. Each update represents improvements over the previous version as well as new terms being added and existing terms being revised and edited. Thus, even if an update does represent improvements, it does also represent challenges for all users of the dictionary. We have developed solid routines for providing a clear representation of how your specific data is impacted by upversioning of MedDRA. This enables you to document your dictionary change control process and to identify any potential need for re-coding as a consequence of the upversioning.
